Who is He anyway? Simply put, He is the Son of God... and He’s your Savior.
Right about now you might be thinking, ‘Why do I need a savior? What is that anyway?’
Well, let’s start with the problem...
The Problem
We ALL need a Savior. Because we have all sinned. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) That means you. That means me. All of mankind has sinned, in one way or another, and is in need of forgiveness. Does that mean that everyone is just a horrible person? No, of course not. But just being a good person isn’t enough. We are still born into sin. And we are helpless to save ourselves from sin. No one is born perfect or righteous. Only Jesus was. Which brings us to the solution...
The Solution
Jesus is the solution to the problem of sin. You see, sin ultimately brings death. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ, our Lord.” Jesus is God’s gift to all mankind. He sent Him into the world to save us. Jesus lived a perfect life, so we would have an example to follow. He died a brutal death so we would have forgiveness for sin. He rose again from the grave so we could have the hope of eternal life with Him one day. Why did He do all this? Love. He did it because He loves you, and He wants you to love Him.
Our Response
So ask yourself again why you need Him. We need Him because we have sinned and through Him is forgiveness. We need Him because in Him we receive eternal life in heaven. The amazing thing is that a holy, righteous God wants us, and wants to be with us, flaws and all. We love Him because He first loved us, even when we were at our worst. Not only that, but He actually wants to have a personal, daily relationship with us. He wants to be the center of our heart and life. He wants to give us hope, peace, joy, and life abundant. He wants to be our Savior.
You might be wondering now, ‘so how does He “save” me?’ 1 John1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Confess: tell Him you recognize your need for Him. Repent: ask for His forgiveness. Accept: ask Him to live in your heart and help you everyday.
This is the first step in a lifelong journey with Jesus. It won't be easy, but Jesus will be with you, and it will be worth it. Where do you go from here?

Pray. The way believers talk to God is through prayer. Your prayers are from your heart to His heart. Don't worry about having the "right words" to say. God wants to know what's on your heart.
